Lukas Ventouras was raised in East Northport and lives in Northport. A longtime member of the Huntington Democratic Committee, he has worked on campaigns with the Suffolk County Democratic Committee at every level.
He has experience in civil rights law, public service, and media, including with the Law Offices of Fred Brewington and in Rep. Grace Meng's office on labor and worker protections.
Ventouras is completing his JD. at St. John's University School of Law, where he served as president of the American Constitution Society, a progressive legal organization focused on constitutional law and policy.
He identifies as both a Progressive and an "FDR
Democrat," focused on strengthening the economy, protecting civil rights, and national security.
Christopher Gallant is a Democratic candidate for Congress in New York's First District, a Long Island native, and serves in the New York Army National Guard.
He served as a Black Hawk helicopter pilot and air traffic controller and continues his service as a member of the National Guard and a volunteer firefighter.
Gallant is running to bring a service-driven, pragmatic approach to Washington, with a focus on affordability, supporting working families, strengthening the local economy, and expanding resources and support for veterans and their families across Suffolk
County and the East End.
