Where We Stand
Take a look and see where we stand, what we’re working on, and how you can get involved to help shape our future!
Kings Park Freight Yard
The proposed freight yard in Kings Park is raising big questions. Increased truck traffic, noise, and pollution are serious concerns for residents.
We stand with the community in opposing this project as it stands. Instead, we’re pushing for sustainable solutions that prioritize residents’ well-being and protect the character of our neighborhoods. Let’s make sure Smithtown remains a great place to live, not just a convenient stop for freight.
Safe Drinking Water
Everyone deserves clean, safe drinking water. Here in Smithtown, we’re working to address issues like nitrogen pollution and aging septic systems that threaten our water quality.
We support upgrading local wastewater systems, expanding sewer projects, and protecting our natural resources. Keeping our waterways and drinking water clean is not just an environmental issue—it’s about health and quality of life for everyone in our community.
Thoughtful Development and Preserving Open Spaces
Overdevelopment is a growing concern in Smithtown. New projects can bring benefits, but they also bring challenges like traffic, overcrowded schools, and loss of green space.
We believe in smart, balanced growth that keeps our neighborhoods livable while providing housing options for everyone. Preserving open spaces and parks is a priority—we want to ensure Smithtown stays a beautiful place to live for generations to come.
