The NY Health Bill has just been reintroduced in the NY State Senate with more cosponsors than ever before--only 8 shy of passing! New York Health would provide universal, comprehensive health care to all New Yorkers without premiums, co-pays, deductibles, or limited provider networks.
We've secured a spot at the Port Jefferson Farmer's Market so we can get the word out about this incredibly important bill and get petition signatures to put pressure on our senators to support the bill. Activists from NYS Senate District 1 will be joined by Steven Cecchini who has lots of experience canvassing for this bill and can help us answer the tough questions. If we get a big enough turn-out, we may split up to canvass to local businesses as well.
We will need a table and chairs so if you can bring them, please do! In the meantime, get ready by reading up on the bill here http://www.nyhcampaign.org/resources and learning more about single payer by watching one (or both!) of these documentaries http://fixithealthcare.com/watch-the-movie/ https://edvideoplus.vhx.tv/packages/now-is-the-time-screening-kit/videos...
Healthcare is a human right--and it is a right that is within our grasp here in New York State. Let's make it happen!
